"The next day was foggy. Everything on the farm was dripping wet. The grass looked like a magic carpet. The asparagus patch looked like a silver forest.
On foggy mornings, Charlotte's web was truly a thing of beauty. This morning each thin strand was decorated with dozens of tiny beads of water. The web glistened in the light and made a pattern of loveliness and mystery, like a delicate veil. Even Lurvy, who wasn't particularly interested in beauty, noticed the web when he came with the pig's breakfast." ~ Charlotte's Web

Me to the kids: "What do you think Elsa (of Frozen) had to eat?"
Asher: "Maybe she ate a piece of her ice castle every day."
//
"If Asher's at school we can do green & blue & red & pink. This time mum I won't eat my boogers, because boogers aren't ever fair. They're not my favourite."
Edie's thoughts on how we should do her nail polish.

Friday. Sick day for Edie girl. It takes 3 minutes to drive to the medical clinic in town.
It was a beautiful day.

The line that got the biggest laugh: "Thith thtuff shticks in my mouth. It'th worth than caramel candy." ~ Templeton moving Charlotte's egg sac for Wilbur
To sum: "Life in the barn was very good - night & day, winter & summer, spring & fall, dull days & bright days. It was the best place to be, thought Wilbur, this warm delicious cellar, with the garrulous geese, the changing seasons, the heat of the sun, the passage of swallows, the nearness of rats, the sameness of sheep, the love of spiders, the smell of manure, & the glory of everything."

The saddest bit: "'Good-bye!' she (Charlotte) whispered. Then she summoned all her strength & waved one of her front legs at him. She never moved again. Next day, Charlotte died. The Fair Grounds were soon deserted... Nobody, of the hundreds of people that had visited the Fair, knew that a grey spider had played the most important part of all. No one was with her when she died."
