bits & pieces ( BC 5 )

odds & ends from our trip...

mum watched the kids for me on her day off & sent me a photo of Edie asleep on the couch at 9:30 in the morning! Haha, Gramma knows how to play hard :)

snuggling with Papa & a yummy breakfast (Asher even ate the bacon!)

playing at the park with Izzy / a great time at Centre Church!

listening to instructions at Georgia's 4Cats painting party / splattering away!

my little artists... Edie was Delighted to have her own paint tray & everything!

everyone's a little tired...?

more park play / Edie just doing her thing ;)

First nail painting! / nap time

pool time with Gramma & Papa!

Joel finally joined us the last couple days in BC - we picked him up at the airport in Abbotsford & went to Krause for waffles!

The next couple days we played in the pool & Joel took the kids to the aquarium.

My two days 'off' - one shopping in Abbotsford while mum watched the kids / my friend & I having some relaxing pool time to visit (both of us kid free!)

A fun afternoon with Ruby & Sophie - Ruby showed me her cookie making tricks & we stopped to get slushies!

A few photos from our last night there - we had a family get-together, combining Mom's birthday BBQ with family photos. Poor Sophie wasn't feeling herself; (turns out she needed her appendix out the next day!)

Then it was time to head home again! We drove back to Calgary for a couple days before making the last trek home.

This was Joel's third trip to England & my third to do a big family visit on my own. It's obviously wearing to have the kids without Joel, but so worth it to spend the time with family. It's awesome to see the relationships being built & all the memories we make. We got to have lot's of adventures & Asher & Edie had so much fun playing with all their cousins etc! This year was much easier with the kids than last, though not without it's challenges... my apologies to everyone who witnessed my not so glamorous mommy moments! ;)

  1. Thank YOU for making that huge effort! It was really so special to have all 10 of the grandkids together and see them interact having fun. Makes my gramma-heart sing. And I wished we could have squeezed in a few more kid-free days for you but I'm glad you scored on at least 2! and a sleepover with your hubby. Till next year!
