"Grace is receiving ourselves the way God receives us ~ with joy, delight & love.
Sometimes that's hard to do. May we accept our shortcomings & tiredness, with grace." (Anjuli)

Happy Mother's Day!
A plethora of artwork & breakfast in bed to kick things off.

Date #1 / 8:30 am bike ride with my boy. Keeping me informed on all things Kirby.

Date #2 / art hub drawing a Mermicorn with my girl & painting her nails.

Date #3 / bike ride with my baby boy

& Date #4 / he had also requested a bike ride, but it had been a day so we snuggled in bed for some Dr Seuss (raps with Wes) & a couple more books before he dozed off. It is a most satisfying thing to have a child nod off while reading aloud.

I appreciated what Gracelaced had to share for mothers day...

"They call me Mama, & I call them by the wrong names All.the.Time. But this is the stuff of motherhood ~ thinking you might lose your mind, never get enough sleep, or forget how to speak in complete sentences. It's facing your own sinfulness, self-centred expectations, & need for ease (or peace & quiet). So we set our eyes on Christ, lean on mercy, & fall on grace.
Because for all the 'too-hard,' 'i can't' & why me' moments of motherhood - momentarily eclipsed by flowers, gifts, & encouragement - the hope that keeps us pressing on long after the flowers fade & the fussing resumes is that He is not through with us yet." (Gracelaced)

Also - shout out to my man who helps keep me sane around here - who was up early with the kids making pancakes & took Edie on a trip to town just to get sparkles for her artwork & so many other things... thank you. I love you.
