saturday morning the sun was shining & we packed up our v-dub for a day at the lake with the Fam. unbeknownst to us of course, it was actually quite windy out, but nothing to complain about as it was a beautiful day. spread out the picnic blankets & kept busy with the girlies / enjoyed a little bbq / ice cream galore / dock time etc. it's maybe not the best time to take photos in midday with the sun so bright & such drastic shadows, but oh well. kept the 50mm lens on & played with aperture a bit - both joel & des grabbed the camera for a few shots. . .

sophie upset again. maybe she had a little too much beach time.. a lovely day & when we got back to mom & dad's helped make roll cookies/kucken? for a perfect summer snack with watermelon.

other updates include amazing raspberries enjoyed from the home garden & peas ready to be shelled, on sunday helping mother make some Beautiful Mango Jam & had just enough garden strawberries for two little jars. (thanks for the inspiration, grandma)!

also, tis mid july already & i had made a pact with my hubby that i'd read the nikon manual by the end of the month! i should probably start now. . . (maybe after i paint my toes - inspired by miss ruby's blue nails).
