the thought resides in me once & again - sitting at the little wooden table beside the pond & fishes in thee sun, enjoying breakfast or other - how enjoyable the backyard is... varied shades of flowers, surprise edibles, sounds of bees.. our landlords recently vacated for their cabin, leaving me in charge of picking calendulas & lavenders, & the balcony open for use. so we enjoyed ourselves a little wine party & some company..
joel laughing at one of my jokes..
cherries from the berry stand. eat them up while you can.
blueberries! i've never realized how pretty a blueberry plant is. something i like about buds in general before they're in full bloom.. on a side note, i've also done well with picking all the berries of summer thus far, if in a round-a-bout way; strawberries (check), raspberries (check, from a stray plant in the alley), & blueberries from the back. i have my eyes out for those blackberries!
sister, souer.
fyi: calendula gives you very sticky fingers.
& who knew hydrangeas needed to be picked at a certain time for proper drying technique? much to learn from our landlord's wealth of information & insight on various curiosities & how-to's..
splendid! love your blueberry plant photo.... & come pick blackberries with me at auntie barbs. they're out in august only though.. des
