Grandma Wieler / GG
In remembrance of Gramma Wieler ~
Helen, & in later years to her great-grandies, GG.
She passed away this summer, shortly after our family reunion.
Pictured above on her 90th birthday.
She was nearly 95 & still sharp in her mind & hearing up until the end. We were all disappointed she wasn't able to make it out to the family reunion as per the plan, but as it turns out many of us were able to see her in literally her last days because we were in closer proximity because of the reunion's location. Our family was able to see her on our way home from camp & were able to talk & pray with her & say goodbye. She passed away peacefully that night with Des & Ruby at her bedside, 'It is Well' playing in the background. She was held up in prayer & love & surrounded by family in her last days on earth.
I always had a special love for Gramma & felt she had the same for me, tho I was one of many grandchildren. A memory that stays with me when I think of her is her greeting upon seeing me ~ the delight in her voice as she said my name, "Dani!" & held out her hands to grasp mine.
Joel & I have thought of this as an apt image of the Father's love for us as his children.
A couple pics over the years...

a previous visit & my last visit with her.
Psalm 139 will always remind me of her ~ I remember her reading it one time at a family gathering when I was pregnant with Asher & it felt particularly poignant at that time, & it was special for me to read it with her again a last time.
It was a very special ceremony at the graveside led by my cousin Rocky, with many of us there together. It was lovely to hear the memories & things of note from all the grandchildren, or at least one from each family. It was obvious that Gramma was much loved, she had loved us all, & especially loved & delighted in Jesus.
A list of all the names & birthdays of her Great-Grandchildren ~
Gramma had an amazing memory for keeping track of all these kids/names & families & prayed diligently for us all.
You left a wonderful legacy, Gramma.
We love you so much.
