s u m m e r d a y s

I feel like it took a little while for us to find our footing this summer, but I'd say we've found our rhythm!

This is our last week before we head off on our road trip to alberta & BC, so trying to make the most of it! I need to tidy up the garden & pick the last of the berries, as well as make it to the regional park one more time before we head out this week.

I've tried to take the kids to the regional park more often this summer where there's a water/spray park. They have their bathing suits on the second we're there but the real highlight is always the snack! ;) It feels so much nicer on a hot day to be near some water; there's a ton of playground for A&E to run around & a nice shady spot for James & I.

raspberries are a summer favourite... my garden bushes don't produce much for quantity but they're perfect for the kids to go out & pick for themselves. Another garden hit was the peas, more so for Edie - she ate them almost nonstop as a snack, haha.

Fun times are always had in Melfort hanging out with our fellow Houston's.

Edie, James & I sat poolside last week watching Asher's swimming lessons. Nipawin upgraded the outdoor pool this year & it's so awesome for the kids. I've taken them a few times & they just love it. It has lot's of shallow area for them to play in.

It's nice to take the kids out in the evening to a park when it's cooler outside & for a change of scenery.

Excited for our trip & to hang out with family! 

Hopefully there's still a bit of summer here when we get back...
