painting projects

I'm finally finished all my painting projects!
I had a few things I wanted to work on after settling in from moving and before baby came.
I did everything here with Cece's chalk paint which is awesome to use - it literally paints over anything without any priming/sanding necessary. Great for lazy DIY's like myself! I also found it very forgivable to work with.

Project number one: baby crib.
We picked this up off kijiji in Calgary and though I didn't mind the wood, it was pretty worn.
I'm glad I did it first - it made my other projects seem super simple!

Here it is before:

Painted:

And assembled!
Plus a little sneak peek into the nursery ;)

Second project: dresser & night tables for our bedroom. As I've mentioned previously, my in-laws graciously sent these our way when they updated their own bedroom. Again, I didn't mind the wood but couldn't resist sprucing them up! Here's before:

I did them in a darker grey than the crib. I wanted to keep a fairly neutral palette and grey is my new go-to decor colour. Here's the process...

And complete! Was unsure whether to distress it a bit or not, but am glad I did. This paint rubs right off with a damp cloth before the finish is on.

(I love the handles on these drawers, Carolyn!)

Love our new bedroom furniture! And here's the night table all finished up.

This next project I did when we were in Calgary. I enlisted my mother's help in toting this desk home from the neighbour's garbage outside and am pretty pleased with the result! I whitewashed it and threw on some new knobs. Now a change table!

And finally a small crib/bassinet that I had - originally the bottom wood colour.

I had fun working on all these but am glad to have it done.
Have been putting the finishing touches on the baby's room and looking to see what else I can accomplish in the next week or two here...
