Fish & Fritters

Continued...

at Lonsdale Quay we picked up two nice pieces of halibut for our supper & had some cauliflower in the fridge so decided to try making some fritters as well. (Joel & I have had a hankering to try deep-frying something - haven't ever done it ourselves). Used both of Jamie Oliver's recipes for these - Pan-fried Curried Cod (in our case Halibut) & his Cauliflower Fritters. Our fritters didn't look as good as his (turned out more like tempura, we thought) but was still a success. Joel was in charge of frying the fish & I have to say it was some of, if not the best fish I've ever had! Lightly coated in curry & salt & pepper (subtle & delicious) & fried to Perfection! The Mission Hill white wine was also very nice...

Dinner is Served:

Chocolate ice cream for dessert & Charlie Chaplin's City Lights.

  1. Well done on the fish! When I tried that recipe it turned out burnt on the outside and not quite done on the inside. Blech. I get all scared when it comes to frying things with any type of batter!
